Fusion earned the title ‘Contractor of the Month’ based on the quality of product it supplied to the £12million development, its timely delivery to site and its rapid response to any issues arising. Ian Beakey, Fusion Site Team Supervisor was awarded ‘Employee of the Month’ in recognition of his positive and helpful outlook on site.

In a contract worth £1million awarded by Keepmoat, Fusion Building Systems is responsible for the offsite design and manufacture of 85 self-contained apartments within the three and four storey blocks which make up the development’s extra care facility. Fusion’s team started on site in early February, erecting the insulated light gauge steel superstructures which have been tailor-made at its Northampton factory. The apartments form part of the 119-home development for the over 50s, which will also include a residents’ lounge, restaurant, hair and beauty salon and private gardens.

Declan Cullen, Head of Construction at Fusion, said: “We employ a hardworking, talented and dedicated team at Fusion and these two awards have certainly put smiles on faces. While our work on site may have only started recently, we’ve been in close communication with Keepmoat for some time, developing designs and devising the most cost effective solution to meet their brief. For this reason, the pat on the back given by these awards will be well received by the whole company.”

Fusion has worked on a number of developments with Keepmoat in the past, including the recently completed works on a £15million older people’s housing scheme in Northampton. Fusion delivered its contract on budget and on time, in just 19 weeks.

Declan continued: “We do have a long-standing relationship with Keepmoat but as these awards prove, we don’t rest on our laurels. We continually strive to provide the best possible service to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations. Working alongside Keepmoat Project Manager Mike Burridge, Senior Site Manager Stuart Conway and their innovative team, we have formed a great working site partnership to deliver their Housing with Care scheme.”

Fusion’s work on site at Shorey Bank is expected to take 14 weeks in total. The entire development is planned for completion in spring 2018.
