  • Junior Estimator

Location: Northampton

Reporting to: Estimating Manager

Purpose of Role:

Fusion Building Systems is a leader in the LGSF industry. Due to our on-going success and expanding workload we are now seeking to appoint a Trainee Estimator to join the company based at Head Office in Northampton. This position would suit candidates who are academic, bright, and enthusiastic, have an avid interest in the Construction Industry and are looking for a long-term career, continued development and progression. Fusion are also willing to explore the option to enrol on a part time construction related degree or advanced learning course.

Initial Duties:

  • Register new inquiries onto the Fusion System and Commercial report.
  • Assess new inquiries and ensure information is passed to all relevant internal Clients – Business Development Managers and or Directors.
  • Assess the quality of information received with new enquiries and respond to external Clients acknowledging receipt and requesting additional information where required.
  • Measuring and quantifying elements of projects which are to be included within the Fusion scope of works.
  • Price Fusion supplied elements of projects in accordance with current Fusion prices.
  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate record of items included within the Fusion scope of works to be included in the project quotation.
  • Ensure that accurate files are maintained documenting the Estimating process of each project.
  • Ensuring a good attitude and awareness of health and safety throughout a project is reflected in the pricing of projects.

Progression

  • Actively participate in the continual assessment of project costs to ensure Fusion Pricing structure reflects current costs.
  • Participate in the commercial assessments by Business Development Managers and Directors of projects to determine viability where required.
  • Hand over all relevant information to the Business Development Manager at Design handover stage as a project becomes live within Fusion.
  • Assess and price all design and manufacturing variations that may arise during the design, manufacture, and erection of projects.
  • Obtain prices for non-Fusion supplied elements to be included within the Fusion Scope of works from Purchasing Manager and specialist third party supply chain providers where required.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5 GCSE results A*-C (Maths is essential)
  • A levels or college qualifications (desirable not essential)
  • A good level of computer Literacy, good knowledge of Microsoft packages to include Word, Excel, and Outlook as a minimum
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and attend training development
  • Good time management skills
  • Flexibility – from time to time you may be asked to help with various non-estimating tasks

  • Business Development Manager

Location: Central & Southern England.

Salary: Competitive

Position: Full time, Permanent

Fusion Building Systems have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager covering primarily, the Central & Southern England. You will need:

  • Experience of working within the UK Construction Industry.
  • An understanding and/or experience of load bearing Light Gauge Steel Frame systems would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Great communication and relationship building skills.
  • A great network of relevant contacts.
  • A pro-active LinkedIn account with good engagement.
  • An ability to research, track & develop suitable new build opportunities.
  • Familiarity with the concept of CRM systems.
  • Familiar with Glenigan / Barbour ABI.
  • An ability to work autonomously with good reporting skills.
  • The ability to plan strategically with client appointments and attendances at Conferences, Expo’s & Seminars.
  • The self-confidence to network at said events.
  • Comfortable with presenting to small and large crowds whether delivering CPD presentations both in person & virtually, or actually speaking at an event.
  • Competent with the usual expectations of IT in the workplace.
  • Flexible remote / home / office working but must be resident in the UK.
  • Full driving licence.
