Fusion Building Systems provides complete solutions in Light Gauge Steel Frame panellised superstructures covering design, engineering, manufacture and installation. Established in the year 2000, Fusion has delivered more light steel residential structures than any other producer in Europe, with experience of working with some of the largest contractors and developers in the UK construction industry.

Precision engineering provides high quality panels offsite for installation onsite
With over 20 years experience, our team ensures we deliver high quality, precision engineered sustainable superstructures, on time, on budget and to the desired specification.
Despite signifiant changes in the construction industry, following Grenfell, various economic conditions and the global pandemic, forward-looking contractors and clients have turned to Fusion to find a competitive edge. Our systems provide a level of high quality and cost and project timescale certainty that can only be achieved through off-site construction methods.
In the last few years, we have developed a fully non-combustible product FusionX and have strengthened the team to help clients with a seamless delivery through our 5 step digitally enabled process.
Our team has a wealth of experience in the LGSF industry, including advising on a number of Government and industry bodies. We are on hand to help clients with their projects from conception to completion.
Differentiated by our experience
Our products, our people, our processes and our performance levels are industry-leading. Because we’ve been doing this for 20 years, we understand what works and what doesn’t, and with the rise in use of digital technology, our insight is only getting sharper.
Manufacturing capacity
From our 80,000ft2 manufacturing facility in Northampton, we have the capacity to turnaround more than 30,000m2 of light steel each year, with multiple projects running at any one time. Our contract values range from £200,000 up to £11million and our output is set to increase year on year.
Solid foundations
No one can compete with our 20 years experience of designing, manufacturing and building structures for the residential, care home, private rental or student housing market. And we’re good at what we do too: more than 60% of our business is from repeat customers, who then recommend us to their peers, consultants, architects and investors. It all started in the year 2000 in Ireland when a construction entrepreneur wanted to find a way of delivering high quality housing at speed, with less reliance on labour and the weather. Then in 2010, Fusion was acquired by Salvesen Insulated Frames Ltd, relocated to Northampton and since then, has retained its position at the forefront of the offsite construction sector.
Respected by the industry
Over the past 10 years, our client portfolio has grown exponentially, listing a who’s who of the construction and housebuilding industry: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues, Willmott Dixon and Crest Nicholson to name but a few. Our offsite excellence has also been recognised by such prestigious award programmes as Construction News and the Offsite Construction Awards. We’re regularly asked to speak at industry conferences and are proud to sit on the Boards and steering committees for a number of Government and industry bodies.
Fusion History
Fusion was first conceived in 2000 by an Irish Construction Entrepreneur, as a means of delivering higher quality houses, with less reliance on labour and risks of weather. Fusion was the strategic catalyst that enabled the developer to grow rapidly into a multi-faceted developer/constructor with numerous trading entities, achieving the status during the early 2000s of one of the largest developers in Ireland. During this time, Fusion learned how to deliver housing in high volume and developed the technical know-how in fire and acoustics via extensive testing.
Fusion turned its focus from Ireland to the UK and again achieved substantial growth. By 2009, the UK business had 14 concurrent projects running with one UK main contractor alone, with a total project value of over £200m – as in Ireland the system was once again delivering real strategic advantage.
In 2010, Fusion was acquired by Salvesen Insulated Frames and relocated entirely to the Midlands UK. Fusion is now enjoying consistent growth reflective of the substantial investment being made into the continual development of the business, people, products and services. In the 4 years since Fusion established itself in the UK it experienced huge success, with revenues doubling year on year to an estimated £12M.
In the last few years, we have developed our product range to include FusionX and a range of ancilliary products to help deliver complete packages for our clients. We have strengthened the team to help clients with a seamless delivery through our 5 step digitally enabled process.
